Famous Dragon Arena players?
With this new PvP mode, I was wondering if there were any notable players that people have seen.

This arena is more luck than anything. You can run up to shoot at a guy but while your going to shoot at a guy another guy runs up and shoots at you. Or the guy your shooting at shoots back at you and gets the 5 second later kill. One person isn't notable, a team effort can be impressive.

Errr... I've seen players who just stand there and dodge like 6 shots coming towards him and then suddenly fire back and shoot someone to death. Not just that but they do this repeatedly with little effort and get kill:death ratios of like 8:1.

Wouldn't this be against the whole no-posting names policy?
Or does that not apply when it's actually meant in a positive way?

Only people who could do that are those with very low pings. My ping averages between 300-1000 depending on time of the day (I live in the UK, play on American servers).
It's annoying having dogde a attack, and then die half a sec later because the other person has a better connection to the server.
Interestingly it doesn't effect my fighting in missions or GvG.

Your very very much wrong. I use Trade Winds with Kiting to great affect. Did you not read my post? No amount of kiting in the world will help you with you get lag skilled by a attack which may or may not hit you
I use Kiting to great affect, and with all the Rit Spirit spammers, more so then ever these days.

I love this arena. Played it a few times figuring I could see just how good my kiting was. So I take down two people on the other team, while my whole team wipes. Then I get, rez noob yelled at me while I am 4 vs 1. Something tells me 3 sec rez while kiting four people would not happen.

I dunno bout inviduals but i did see some of the high rank guilds in there
The team i went 10 straight with had 2 iQ and 1 WM

For now it is impossible for someone to have build a reputation in the Dragon Arenas. There simply haven't been enough games so far and it's very rare that i meet someone twice. On top of that, dodging isn't hard in GuildWars.
Just observe the enemies, once they start casting immediately change your direction. Et voilá, you've just dodged their attacks. Add in that most players have a habit of running straight up towards someone and then as soon as they're in range, fire their spells. Not clever. Really not clever. But meh, those can't dodge either so it basically allways goes like this:
Enemy: Lol noob!
*runs up casts orb*
Me: *dodge*
*cast orb back*
+1 Score
Enemy: wtfz0r, haaax!!

A tip: Don't try to hide behind any 'solid' objects such as poles/pillars, trees and others. It doesn't block the attack.

I think some do block the attack. You get an obstructed message if you try to shoot through the pillars in the elevated areas on the two sides of the map.

Some Crazy "Beni Mo" guy. Would be the last one standing on our team and drop 3-4 of the enemies before going down/retreating.

thats the bare minimum skillset for a successfull player.
more like
*runs up casts orb*
- dodge -
- cast orb -
* dodge *
- runs and tries IM -
* casts trade wind and retreats *
- before enemy orb reloads falls back to dodgeable range -
and so on

blunt tactics that doesn't work against a good team but it doesn't hurt to try that.
the 3 teams that i was successfull with (8 wins+) had some things in common.
1) they all went for battle in the middle of the field.
if it comes to a battle in the open the team with better skills wins.
if the enemy team tries to hold the spot on the side there is a trading of kills with a slight advantage for the upper team but after the respawn they are divided and get mashed.
2) they all used tactics that involved more then 2 players with everyone aware tactical situation.
the only matches that where close were when the other team used the same tactics.
and to the ppl that say ping doesn't matter. if both players in a 1vs1 situation are equal the one with the better ping wins. sometimes u are dead before the other begins to cast. the server knows it but u see it 1 second later.
i love dragonball. it is derived from dodgeball which was developed by players and shows that anet takes a look at the community
